Description

:This course is about the interpretation and application of primary legislation (statutes made by constitutionally established parliaments and legislatures) and delegated legislation (regulations, by-laws and other texts of a legislative nature made under delegated authority). The course explores the range of approaches and techniques courts have recognized for these purposes. The focus will be on developing analytical skills and methods of argumentation to resolve disputes about the meaning and application of legislative texts.
