TNFC BOARD of DIRECTOR Position Title: Board Director
Term: (Insert Term Length – e.g., 2 years, renewable)
Accountability: Accountable to the Members / Community of the Friendship Centre.
Purpose of the Role The Board Director serves as a fiduciary of the Friendship Centre and contributes to the overall governance, strategic direction, and policy development of the organization. Directors act in accordance with the Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act (ONCA) and uphold the mission, vision, and values of the Friendship Centre and the OFIFC Code of Ethics.
Core Responsibilities
Governance & Strategic Oversight
Participate in setting the vision, mission, and strategic priorities of the Centre.
Develop, review, and approve policies.
Ensure alignment with OFIFC membership expectations and agreements.
Avoid involvement in day-to-day management (policy board model).
