Position Information
The School of Trades and Technology is looking for a permanent Trades Shop Technician in the Carpentry program. The Carpentry Technician will provide technical support for day‑to‑day operations, troubleshoot and repair tools and equipment under tight timelines, and support students and instructors with procurement, installation, testing and calibration of equipment. This is a permanent position requiring full‑time commitment (35 hours per week).
Position Responsibilities
- Designs, prototypes, tests, modifies and delivers a wide range of custom‑made projects to meet unique specifications.
- Cuts student materials, stores and distributes materials as required.
- Procures materials and tools as required.
- Receives supplies of materials and other goods and arranges for proper storage.
- Sets up and disassembles a variety of equipment and complex mock‑ups.
