JOB SUMMARY
The Surgical Technician works alongside surgeons, surgical assistants, nurses and anesthesiologists to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures by handling the necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Certificate or associate’s degree in surgical technology
- Experience: Two or more years of related experience
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directly assists the physician and nurses with procedures in the operating rooms
- Performs standard scrub duties
- Sets up sterile table with instruments, equipment, supplies and medications
- Cleans and prepares instruments for sterilization
- Ensures all equipment is functioning
- Preps patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and disinfecting the surgical site
- Assists with properly positioning the patient on the operating table...
