Responsibilities
- Design and supervise construction projects, such as roads, bridges, buildings, and other structures.
- Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects.
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software for detail design.
- Prepare cost estimates for materials, labor or construction time.
- Plan and design transportation or hydraulic systems and structures in line with government standards.
- Design plans to avoid problems like flooding and erosion.
- Monitor progress of construction activities regularly to ensure conformance with design specifications and safety standards.
