Detailed Overview

The Clinical Psychologist works as a member of an interprofessional clinical team, providing psychological treatments to inpatients on medical/surgical wards. The Psychologist also provides consultative services to referral sources regarding issues relevant to the practice of clinical psychology. Further, the Psychologist supervises Psychology residents and senior practicum students in the practice of evidence-based cognitive behavioural therapies. The Clinical Psychologist may also provide psycho-diagnostic assessment services. Responsibilities Provides evidence-based psychological treatment to medical/surgical in-patients, addressing a wide variety of presenting clinical issues, such as mood and anxiety disorders. Accepts referrals from clinical team members and provides consultation on assessment and treatment issues, which may involve interventions such as a formal assessment, group or individual therapy.
