Commis Cook – Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Assist chefs in the preparation and cooking of food items.
  • Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations.
  • Follow recipes, portion controls, and food presentation standards.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Assist with stock replenishment and ingredient storage.
  • Support kitchen operations during service periods.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly.
  • Receive and store deliveries according to company procedures.
  • Perform other duties assigned by senior kitchen staff.
