Responsibilities
A credit investigator is responsible for examining the financial history and creditworthiness of individuals or businesses applying for credit. Their primary duties include: Assessing Credit Applications: Reviewing credit applications submitted by individuals or businesses to determine the financial risk involved in lending or extending credit.
Qualifications
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, or a related field is typically required. Some positions may accept relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience: Prior experience in financial services, credit analysis, banking, or a related field is usually preferred. Knowledge of credit report analysis is highly valued.
