Second Cook

What will you be doing?

  • The preparation, production, and transportation of food items for service
  • Plans effectively to meet daily job requirements
  • Demonstrate proficiency in both hot and cold areas of the kitchen
  • Ability to multitask in a variety of roles within the kitchen
  • Positive influence with all members of the culinary team
  • The organization of food items and mise en place
  • Inventory management; receiving and proper storage of food deliveries
  • Maintaining food standards through use of standardized food recipes and safe food handling practices
  • Maintains food cost through the minimization of food waste
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings to the kitchen managers
  • Maintain a safe work environment, identifying potential hazards and reporting any noticed deficiencies immediately
