Job Description
The Director of Conference manages the in‑person conference experience: programming, run‑of‑show, venue logistics, and attendee flow. This role ensures SCMC’s conference feels like a professional capital markets event, not a student meetup, while making the weekend seamless for competitors, judges, sponsors, and attendees.
Time Commitment 10 hours/week (more during the final 4–6 weeks and conference week)
Term of Employment June 2026 – March 2027
Main Responsibilities
Build the conference operating plan: schedule, run‑of‑show, staffing plan, and contingency playbooks
Manage logistics: rooms, A/V, catering, signage, check‑in, transportation, and speaker readiness
Coordinate competitor + judge experience on‑site (briefings, timing, transitions, green rooms)
Lead volunteer coordination for conference weekend execution
Partner with Marketing on attendee communications and with External on speaker/sponsor needs
