Job Description
Dredge Mechanic for Self-Propelled Cutter Suction Dredger.
Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and maintain main engines, auxiliary engines, pumps, compressors, and hydraulic systems on SPCSD.
- Carry out routine inspections, planned maintenance, and breakdown repairs as per PMS and Chief Engineer’s instructions.
- Assist in operation and maintenance of dredge pumps, cutter drive systems, gearboxes, and associated machinery.
- Monitor machinery parameters, alarms, and log readings during dredging and sailing operations.
- Perform overhauling of engines, valves, pumps, filters, and mechanical components as required.
- Ensure proper lubrication, cooling, and fuel systems functioning at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of engine room and machinery spaces.
- Follow safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and company HSE policies.
