Early Years Field Chef

Role

Early Years Field Chef – Salary starting from £30,368 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience). Mileage will be paid for travel. Working hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, permanent. The position is based at Harwell Nursery with regular travel to other nurseries in Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Bristol.

Responsibilities

• Travel to nurseries within the region to cover for permanent chefs during leave, sickness or absence.
• Prepare, cook and present age‑appropriate food for all children with minimal wastage.
• Ensure all dietary requirements and allergies are met and communicated to nursery teams.
• Keep accurate kitchen records and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
• Support nursery management with food ordering.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, children and parents.
