Environmental Laboratory Chemist

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join the growing environmental business line within Fugro Iraq as an Environmental Laboratory Chemist. This position is based in Basra Iraq on a rotational basis and you will work under the supervision of the Environmental Laboratory Manager.

Responsibilities

• Perform organic and inorganic testing on GCFID, Headspace GCMS, GCMS/MS, ICPOES and IC for water and soil samples to detect and quantify hydrocarbons, volatiles, pesticides, etc.
• Hands‑on experience collecting, preserving and transporting water samples to maintain their integrity.
• Develop new methods and protocols to enhance laboratory capabilities for water and soil samples.
• Conduct validation and measurement uncertainty studies for organic and inorganic parameters in the lab.
• Implement quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of analytical analyses.
