ESL Program Leader

Kingsway Baptist Church (KBC) is a Christian neighbourhood church that seeks to help people and engage in the community like Jesus did. Together with another church, KBC has launched a weekly conversational English program for newcomers to Canada starting in mid-2025. Things have gone well for these volunteer‑led classes and we now have about 20 regular students.

The success of this program has made KBC aware that we can provide further moral, social, spiritual support to these newcomers as they face daunting challenges to settle in a foreign land, culture, and economy. Many students are curious about Christian faith, and this provides an opportunity. KBC plans to launch a Bible‑based daytime English as a Second Language (ESL) program to support newcomers to Toronto. This program will be based at KBC’s church facility, which is located near Royal York subway station.
