Job Description
A reputable mechanical contractor in Calgary is looking for a Mechanical Construction Estimator. This role is pivotal in estimating costs for commercial projects focusing on HVAC, plumbing, and heating systems.
You will work with a growing pre-construction team, evaluating blueprints and specifications to provide competitive and accurate cost estimates for projects ranging from $1M to $15M+. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, along with extensive knowledge of relevant building codes and a background in profitable contract negotiations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct quantity take-offs for mechanical systems
• Develop cost estimates for materials and labor
• Review project designs to identify gaps
• Negotiate competitive quotes from suppliers
• Suggest value-engineering options for clients
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• 3–5+ years of ICI mechanical estimating experience
