About the role: Facilities & Maintenance Officer

Activate Learning is seeking a Facilities & Maintenance Officer to join the team at our Merrist Wood College keeping the campus safe, secure, compliant, and fully operational to support teaching and learning.

As a Facilities & Maintenance Officer, you will act as a hands-on handyperson carrying out a wide range of day-to-day compliance and maintenance tasks across the campus. Duties include:

  • Unlocking and securing buildings
  • General repairs
  • Painting and decorating
  • Setting up rooms for events
  • Moving furniture
  • Health and safety and compliance checks
  • Monitoring site security
  • Responding to helpdesk requests
  • Maintaining external areas
  • Overseeing waste and recycling processes
