Family Support Worker (Visits Centre Assistant)

Support families visiting their loved ones in prison by creating a welcoming and supportive environment in the visitor centre.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and guidance to adults and children.
• Organise activities for children and ensure refreshments are available.
• Assist with making visits as positive and stress‑free as possible.
• Support families during challenging times, using experience to handle situations calmly and sensitively.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues and partner agencies, ensuring safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of family support services.
