Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

  • The Host/Hostess greets arriving guests, welcomes them into the establishment and escorts them to the dining room to seat them. 
  • Manages reservations and seating arrangements. 
  • Maintains menus and host stand. 
  • Monitors the open dining sections of the restaurant for empty and cleaned tables. 
  • Estimates wait times for guests, monitoring the guest waiting list and ensuring that the needs of the guests are met while they are waiting. 
  • Answers the telephone,book reservations and move tables together to accommodate large parties. 
  • When required, he/she is expected to perform the basic tasks of a waiter . bringing dishes to guests and help in clearing and setting of tables.
  • Facilitate effective communication and engagement at the workplace.
  • Establish relationships for customer confidence.
  • Facilitate effective work teams.
