Foundry Caster
Location: Aston, Birmingham
Salary: £33,000 + DOE, monthly bonus scheme.
Shift Pattern: 4 x 12‑hour shifts (2 days, 2 nights, 4 off). Rotational pattern covering a 24/7 operation.
Job Overview
We are a UK manufacturer in the metals and engineering sector seeking a Foundry Casting Operative to join our production team. The role ensures safe and efficient operation of continuous horizontal casting lines supplying precision‑engineered copper alloy products.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing heats in line with various copper alloy specifications
- Operating and maintaining furnaces: melting, skimming, testing metal, alloy adjustments, cleaning and maintenance duties
- General housekeeping within the casting area
- Inspecting cast strip quality and unloading cast coils
- Recording and booking coils using basic computer systems
