The Casterbridge Music Development Academy (CMDA), founded in 2010, is a South African non‑profit organization based in White River, Mpumalanga. The academy empowers youth in underprivileged peri‑urban communities through after‑school music training programs, offering skilled music instruction, access to instruments, and opportunities to perform and collaborate. Serving approximately 250 students weekly, the CMDA aims to provide a constructive alternative for young individuals in communities facing significant socioeconomic challenges. By cultivating music skills, self‑confidence, and creative thinking, the academy envisions nurturing new generations of socially responsible and talented professionals.
