Job Description
**Purpose:**
The Clerk handles the sale of merchandise to the consumer. The Clerk is responsible for the general upkeep of the Shop and performs all duties as required to ensure the daily operations are handled in an efficient and effective manner.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Operate cash register and Lottery machine, opens and closes Shop.
+ Inform Manager or Clerk II when stock items or supplies are low in need of re-ordering.
+ Answer any incoming phone calls and directs calls appropriately.
+ Maintain shop (i.e. dusting, cleaning, rubbish removal) to ensure a safe and aesthetic environment.
+ Conform to The Basics of Service Excellence as described in the hospital's orientation program.
+ Receive incoming merchandise, checks invoices, unpacks and assists with pricing as directed by Manger or Clerk II.
+ Assist customers with gift/flower suggestions and refers any customer complaints to Manager of Clerk II.
