Independent Prescriber

Introduction

We are seeking an Independent Prescriber to join our community‑based team in Wigan and Leigh. Full training will be provided on the job, so prescribers without a background in addiction treatment are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Help develop, implement and evaluate interventions to support people with substance misuse.
• Provide harm reduction, needle syringe provision, psychosocial interventions, opioid substitution treatment, detox referral and community interventions.
• Assess and review treatment plans, provide advice and manage medication prescribing.
• Administer vaccination and blood testing programmes.
• Reach out in the community to offer proactive support and education.
• Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams and external agencies.
