Job Description
The successful candidate
will have a Bachelor of Social Work or related bachelor's degree, and knowledge of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit history, culture, values, history, and contemporary issues facing Indigenous students, families, and communities. Eligibility for registration with the British Columbia Association of Social Workers (BCASW) or in a professional association in a related field will be considered an asset. The IOW will provide school-based and home-based services for Indigenous students and families to support re-engagement and connection with the school. The IOW is responsible for engaging with students, community groups, agencies, organizations, and service providers with the purpose of supporting student attendance and student success. The IOW will provide support to enhance the success of Indigenous students who may have complex barriers contributing to disengagement from school.
