Job Description
Overview
The job holder is responsible for providing sterile and reusable surgical instruments and equipment by demonstrating competence in all aspects of sterile processing: receiving, sorting, decontamination, inspection, packaging, sterilization, storage and distribution of sterile items to operation theatres, SOC, in‑patient wards and procedural rooms.
Job Responsibilities Primary Responsibilities (80%)- Receive, sort, decontaminate, inspect, pack, sterilize, store and distribute surgical items.
- Load and operate washer‑disinfectors, dryers, ultrasonic washers and sterilizers.
- Perform and evaluate sterilizer test indicators.
- Perform inventory of all sterile linen and surgical consumables supplies.
- Issue sterile supplies to all ORs.
- Perform cleaning of TSSU storage area.
- Demonstrate proper use and care of equipment.
