Internationally Educated Nursing Intern - SPEP

The IEN Intern plays a key role in delivering on Unity Health Toronto (UHT)'s mission, vision values and in advancing UHT's Professional Practice strategic directions. Participants apply existing nursing knowledge and expertise in a preceptored, fully supervised clinical experience called the Supervised Practice Experience Partnership (SPEP) program. They advance their understanding of interventions that promote health and wellness for a broad range of challenges within a patient safety framework. Participants utilize a process of reflective practice and critical inquiry to evaluate individual and team decision-making processes and actions. Participants assume increasing autonomy and accountability in the provision of care for clients under the supervision of a preceptor.
