Job Description
An IT Network Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, security, and ongoing maintenance of an organization’s network infrastructure. This role ensures reliable connectivity, optimal performance, and protection of network resources across LAN, WAN, WLAN, and internet‑facing systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, manage, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points
- Monitor network performance, availability, and security using NMS tools
- Troubleshoot network outages, latency, and packet loss issues
- Implement VLANs, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), NAT, and VPNs
- Enforce network security policies (firewall rules, IDS/IPS, access control)
- Perform backups, firmware upgrades, and documentation
- Support users and servers with network‑related issues
- Coordinate with ISPs, vendors, and internal IT teams
