A) JOB SUMMARY
The Labour Relations Specialist (LRS) has responsibility for further developing Camosun’s labour and human relations functions by providing expert advice, services and consultation on a broad range of labour and employee relations matters. As an in-house subject matter expert, the LRS provides leadership and recommendations regarding the interpretation, administration and application of four (4) employment contracts. Specific responsibilities include developing, enhancing and maintaining an effective labour relations environment; providing guidance and advice on a wide range of routine and complex labour relations issues and related legislation; facilitating all stages of the grievance process; supporting collective bargaining in a multi-union educational environment and providing support on strategic initiatives undertaken by the Human Resources department as it relates to employee relations and labour relations matters.
