Job Description
The Cook prepares meals and follow establishment recipes. Duties include preparing ingredients, adhering to the menu, and following food health and safety procedures. Cook, clean, assist other cooks and staff and deliver food in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Setting up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment like knives, pans, and food scales
- Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh
- Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients, cooking food in a timely manner
- Delegate tasks to kitchen staff
- Inform staff about daily specials
- Ensure appealing plate presentation
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
- Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between co-workers, coaching Kitchen Helpers for optimum output of tasks
