Education and Qualifications
College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
Responsibilities
- Explain procedures.
- Operate X‑ray, radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment.
- Operate radiation therapy equipment.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
- Position patients.
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceutical materials to patients or to biological samples.
- Train technicians, assistants, students or interns.
- Assist radiation oncologists and clinical physicists with preparation of radiation treatment plan.
- Assist in the preparation of sealed radioactive materials and the construction of plaster casts and acrylic moulds to assist with administration of radiation treatment.
- Perform diagnostic procedures using radioactive materials on biological specimens.
