Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

As a member of the Surge Unit interdisciplinary team, provides quality patient care within the scope of professional nursing practice to admitted patients and their families in the ED and Overflow areas. Although primarily assigned for a surge of admitted patients, may be reassigned to provide care for patients after the surge concludes, and/or to provide care on seniors' program/alternate level of care (ALC) units or any patient care area as directed by the Manager or Nursing Supervisor as required.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Active registration with ANBLPN
  • Current BCLS certification
  • Willing to participate in continuing education/certification programs (i.e. breastfeeding certification, non-violent crisis intervention, Periop 101, ASIST, cast application/removal, etc.) as outlined during orientation and onboarding within a defined timeframe.
