JOB SUMMARY: This position works directly with department leadership, therapists, patients, clinical staff, and physician offices to ensure patient access to skilled therapy services. The Patient Access Scheduler in Rehabilitation obtains necessary information for accurate and timely completion of authorization, registration, and scheduling of the patient upon receipt of a therapy referral. This position determines acuity of the patient and/or specialty skills required of the therapist to meet the patient’s needs based on diagnosis and reason for consultation. The Scheduler follows a triage process to determine the appropriate therapist and location for therapy.
