Pharmacy Technician

Job Overview

The Pharmacy Technician will work as part of the multidisciplinary team within the General Practice to support safe, effective, and efficient use of medicines. They will assist with medicines optimisation, repeat prescribing processes, patient education, and clinical administrative tasks under the supervision of a clinical pharmacist and GPs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct medication reviews.
• Review patient compliance and support adherence through education and advice.
• Monitor high-risk medicines and ensure required blood tests and safety checks are up to date.
• Undertake regular audits that pertain to patient safety.
• Process repeat prescription requests in line with practice protocols.
• Update patient medication records, reconcile medicines, and identify discrepancies.
• Manage acute medication requests and queries, escalating appropriately.
