NanoGUNE is a research center devoted to conducting world‑class nanoscience research for the competitive growth of the Basque Country. NanoGUNE is a member of the Basque Research and Technology Alliance (BRTA) and is recognized by the Spanish Research Agency as a María de Maeztu Unit of Excellence. The Nanooptics Group is looking for highly motivated pre‑doctoral researchers to contribute to the development of next‑generation infrared nanospectroscopy instrumentation and methodologies. The PhD position is part of a joint project with attocube systems GmbH, a world‑leading company in near‑field optical microscopy and nanospectroscopy.
The Nanooptics Group pioneered scattering‑type scanning near‑field optical microscopy (s‑SNOM) and Fourier‑transform infrared nanospectroscopy (nano‑FTIR), establishing key scientific and technological foundations for modern infrared nanospectroscopy.
