Phd Research Position In Data Management In Prehistoric Archaeology

Overview

IPHES‑CERCA, a research institute in Prehistoric Archaeology, is offering a 4‑year predoctoral contract for a PhD research position in Data Management in Prehistoric Archaeology. The project aims to define an open archaeological data life‑cycle, including development of data acquisition (Arch‑e System 3.0), implementation of FAIR data for long‑term preservation and re‑use, and adaptation of storage and analysis tools for openness and re‑use.

Responsibilities

The candidate will conduct original research and:

• Analyse data management systems and their application to field‑based archeo‑stratigraphic study cases.
• Participate in IPHES‑CERCA fieldwork.
• Implement simulations and develop software for Open Science practices.

Qualifications

• Degree that allows enrollment in the Universitat Rovira i Virgili Doctorate Programme in Quaternary and Prehistory.
