Primary Care Paramedic

The PCP provides immediate treatment and transportation of sick and injured individuals to appropriate medical facilities. A high level of professionalism, communication, and knowledge is required. The paramedic must conduct themselves safely and discreetly, and be accountable to patients, family members, hospital staff, management, public agencies, and legal court.

• Maintain personal knowledge and skills in accordance with the Alberta Occupational Competency Profile (AOCP) to deliver optimum patient care.
• Safely operate MHS – West vehicles in accordance with MHS – West Health and Safety Manual, Operational Guidelines, and all provincial and federal regulations.
• Stocks and maintains vehicles in a state of readiness at all times.
• Work in hazardous environments to ensure the safety and stabilization of the patient.
