Job Description

The Procurement and Sourcing Specialist is responsible in the procurement of products or items based on the requirements of the requesting departments in a cost-effective manner. The function includes coordination with suppliers and sourcing of vendors when necessary as well as the processes required to purchase and to ensure that a full stock inventory is maintained.

  • Identifies and sources potential suppliers.
  • Initiates bid or quote process for the requested items from existing and potential suppliers.
  • Negotiates with providers, reviews contract agreements, monitors progress and conducts internal audit to check quality of service provider.
  • Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price, obtains recommendations from suppliers for substitute items and seeks approval from requisitioning department.
