About HWDSB French Programs
HWDSB is an anglophone school board that offers two French programs. The Core French program begins in Grade 4, with approximately 40 minutes of instruction per class per day. The French Immersion program begins in Grade 1, with students receiving about 85 percent of instruction in French. French Immersion continues into secondary at two sites, offering courses in Math, Science, Geography and History.
Qualifications
- Certified by the Ontario College of Teachers (in good standing)
- New graduates pending Ontario College of Teachers certification are welcome to apply
- French as a Second Language, Part 1 or equivalent and native‑like French fluency
- Strong English skills
