Recreation Therapist I

Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the Manager for Adult Day Programs, the Recreation Therapist develops and coordinates the day-to-day recreation therapy activities of the assigned Adult Day Programs. The Recreational Therapist is a member of the Specialty Program multidisciplinary team and provides clinical support and direction to Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides, Healthcare Aides, Volunteers, students and other members of the multi-disciplinary team. The main focus of work is to ensure the level of therapeutic recreation practice in the assigned day program area(s) is evidence based, client and family centered and in accordance with policies, procedures and standards of practice. Within this role the therapist completes client’s assessment and, collaborates with the team on development of recreational programming to meet client’s assessed needs.
