Registered Nurse

The Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for providing perioperative patient care using the nursing process in accordance with CARNA, Operating Room Nurses Association of Canada (ORNAC), and CSA standards of practice. The RN will demonstrate competence in delivering safe, effective, and efficient care in both a scrub, circulating, and a recovery role as an integral part of their surgical team. The incumbent must be able to meet the required physical demands of the position which include lifting, pulling and pushing, walking, standing, transferring and transporting patients and equipment frequently. The nurse is responsible for providing safe care throughout the patient's stay in the surgical suite. The RN promotes the professional role and evaluates own professional education and clinical practice standards.
