Senior Geologist

Overview

Senior Geologist to join Cenovus Conventional Heavy Oil team located in the Calgary office. Reporting to the Alberta Geoscience Manager, Conventional Heavy Oil, the Senior Geologist will work in a multi-disciplinary team to ensure reservoir development plans are optimized to meet Cenovus business needs, enable successful execution of development plans, and support long-term strategy.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geological evaluations using core data, well logs, drilling, and production information to identify and mature new drilling prospects.
• Generate technical insights and recommendations to support asset development strategies and project execution plans.
• Prepare and present technical recommendations to leadership through formal review and approval processes.
• Evaluate Crown, freehold, and industry-held land opportunities for acquisition, retention, or divestiture.
