About the role: Join our dynamic team as a Senior Mechanical Engineer, where you'll lead and develop in‑house Domestic Gas Engineers, ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑impact gas services across the community. Reporting to the Gas Operations Manager, you'll drive quality, compliance, and performance—both in‑house and across contractor services—while upholding the Council’s legal obligations under Gas Safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the in‑house gas operatives team to deliver safe, efficient, and cost‑effective gas services, including landlord safety checks and repairs.
• Oversee out‑of‑hours emergency gas services using internal staff, agency workers, and contractors.
• Support contractor management to ensure compliance with legislation, technical standards, and Council policies.
