Sessional Instructor, Practical Nursing (Port Alberni)

Position Summary

Sessional instructional assignment (up to 25%) to teach the Practical Nursing Diploma program at North Island College. The successful candidate will design and deliver the lab course PNS 116: Integrated Nursing Practice 1 using a face‑to‑face method at the Port Alberni campus. The schedule will be flexible to meet program needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare learning materials and instructional activities for the lab course.
• Use a variety of approaches and materials to address different learning needs.
• Teach assigned subject areas and include all required curriculum in course outlines.
• Direct student learning in a positive, supportive, and caring environment.
• Be available to students regularly during scheduled office hours to discuss progress and other concerns.
• Communicate in writing learning outcomes and explain how learners will be evaluated.
