Job Description

Essential Job Functions

Trade Compliance & Consulting Execution

  • Perform tariff classification under the Canadian Customs Tariff using General Interpretative Rules and CBSA D-Memo guidance.

  • Determine applicability of Special Import Measures Act (SIMA), including anti-dumping and countervailing duties.

  • Prepare and submit CBSA ruling requests related to classification, origin, and valuation.

  • Assess eligibility for preferential tariff treatment under agreements such as CUSMA, CETA, and CPTPP.

  • Conduct origin determinations and valuation analyses under the Canadian Customs Act.

  • Analyze broker and import data to identify compliance risks and duty savings opportunities.

  • Support duty recovery programs including drawback and remission processes.

  • Assist in CBSA audits, verifications, and the Voluntary Disclosures Program (VDP).
