Job Description

The Fruit & Vegetable Supervisor oversees daily operations of the fresh produce section, including receiving, merchandising, staff supervision, and compliance with food safety standards. They ensure fruits and vegetables are fresh, properly displayed, and available to customers, while minimizing waste and maximizing sales.


Key Responsibilities

Product Handling & Quality Control

  • Supervise receiving, sorting, and stocking of fruits and vegetables.
  • Ensure freshness, proper rotation (FIFO), and removal of damaged or expired items.
  • Monitor storage conditions to maintain product quality.

Inventory & Ordering

  • Manage stock levels and coordinate with suppliers for replenishment.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and manage shrinkage/loss prevention.
  • Forecast demand based on seasonality and promotions.
