Supervisory Federal Air Marshal (SAC)

Summary The Law Enforcement Operations Division is responsible for managing all aspects of LE/FAMS field operations, including budget allocations, personnel staffing levels, policy compliance, and training needs assessment decisions. Each field office is managed by a Supervisory Air Marshal in Charge (SAC) who provides overall supervision for Federal Air Marshals deployed on domestic and international flights and serving in ground-based assignments. Responsibilities This is a secondary law enforcement position. Under the authority of the Aviation and Transportation Security Act (ATSA) (PL 107-71, November 19, 2001), the incumbent functions as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer and performs the duties and responsibilities assigned to FAMs. The position serves as a Supervisory Air Marshal in Charge (SAC) of the San Francisco Field Office.
