Job Description

The surfaces of implants must meet many requirements. In addition to biocompatibility and good encapsulation properties, both smooth and rough areas must be generated in specific regions. For the roughening of defined areas, only methods with limited selectivity have been available so far, which means that areas not intended for roughening must be protected at considerable cost. Therefore, the project aims to investigate whether titanium surfaces can be selectively roughened using lasers. The resulting surface should exhibit adhesion properties similar to those of reference surfaces.
