Job Description

Job Summary:

An employee in this classification performs work of routine difficulty by operating
telecommunications equipment, routing calls and assisting in communicating and reporting emergency situations to the appropriate department. Immediate supervision is received by the assigned manager.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with 1 year of switchboard experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
2. Working skill in customer service.

Essential Duties:

  • Operate telecommunication equipment and route calls to the proper extensions.

  • Maintain contact with the ECC Police department and Operations and Maintenance department using a two-way radio.
