Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Perform full-process metallographic sample preparation including cutting, mounting, grinding, polishing, and etching
  • Conduct microstructural observation, grain size rating, phase content analysis, and defect identification (e.g., porosity, inclusions, cracks) using metallurgical microscopes
  • Analyze weld penetration depth, heat‑affected zone, and weld microstructure of welded joints
  • Prepare and archive metallographic specimens; maintain metallographic sample library
  • Operate and maintain Brinell, Rockwell, Vickers, and microhardness testers to perform hardness testing on metallic materials
  • Select appropriate hardness testing methods and loads based on material type and specification requirements
  • Perform gradient and cross‑sectional hardness testing (e.g., on welded joints, heat‑treated parts)
