Tooling Designer

Position Purpose

Prepare Tooling designs for the Rolling Mills and Assembly departments and support Manufacturing with Corrective Actions and Continuous Improvement.

Essential Functions

• Prepare tooling designs as required for the New Product Schedule.
• Incorporate quick change features as appropriate.
• Produce detail tooling drawings.
• Meet deadlines as specified.
• Assist with the manufacture of tooling as appropriate.
• Supervise first use to ensure appropriate shapes, installation and efficient use.
• Coordinate and ensure acceptable rework if necessary.
• Design and develop efficient tooling for the Rolling Mills and Production Assembly.
• Incorporate standardization and quick-change methods whenever appropriate.
• Document and catalogue all tooling lists for set-up and control purposes.
• Maintain drawings current.
