Responsibilities
Monitor computerized reports
Correct the materials system
Review BOM/PPAP/Purchase contracts and scheduling
Coordinate activities with different Materials departments
Monitor the resolution of issues that arise in the Materials System
Maintain frequent contact with others outside the work team
Provide support in resolving problems with suppliers and scheduling
Maintain updated inventory information for unique parts
Attend New Product meetings (assisted by supervisor)
Follow up on purchase orders placed with suppliers
Track purchase orders and their assigned promise dates
Ensure that critical parts identified are purchased as soon as possible
Communicate with affected users when a critical part reaches zero inventory (Reaction Plan)
Contact suppliers to resolve excess or shortage issues
Ensure required materials are not missing to prevent production line shutdowns
